Nationalism.
Truthfully, I have no idea about this thing. I'm doing this because of a homework I have in Citizenship and Governance class.
A little insight about nationalism. Nationalism. Devotion to the interests or culture of one's nation. The belief that nations will benefit from acting independently rather than collectively, emphasizing national rather than international goals. Aspirations for national independence in a country under foreign domination.
This is the meaning of nationalism in the dictionary. But when you ask of me, I think that nationalism means your love and admiration to your own country. No, it is not patriotism. Well, somehow, these two concepts are intertwined with each other. And more often than not, some people might mistake each one from the other. I have to be honest, I haven't felt this sense of nationalism in me. Why? because, I didn't grow up here in the Philippines. I haven't felt that sense of selfless love for my country. Though, I do want to make a difference here. I know, in this small hope, I can make my difference and develop that small sense of nationalism in me.
A little hope for a youth can do great things, if we wish to make that difference. And I certainly would be proud to serve my country for the betterment of the youth.
